Longdale Barn and Osbaston Mews Shortlisted at the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2026
Recognition matters when it reflects the details guests feel throughout a stay. The atmosphere of a home when they first arrive, the quality of its interiors, the sense of place created by its setting and the care that sits quietly behind the scenes all contribute to the experience.
We are delighted to share that Longdale Barn and Osbaston Mews have both been shortlisted for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year at the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2026. We Stay has also been shortlisted for Best Team of the Year.
To receive recognition across both our collection and our team is a particularly proud moment for We Stay. It reflects the individuality and quality of the homes we are privileged to represent, as well as the thought, care and attention that goes into every stay.
It also gives us the opportunity to tell the stories behind two very different examples of luxury self-catering accommodation in Leicestershire. Longdale Barn and Osbaston Mews each offer their own character, setting and experience, but both share the same considered approach.
A shortlist that reflects the We Stay approach
At We Stay, we are proud to represent homes that feel individual rather than interchangeable. The strongest stays are shaped by a clear sense of place, thoughtful design and the details that make a guest feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
That might be the original character of a restored barn, the history held within an eighteenth-century estate or the way a garden changes the feeling of a home as the day moves on. These details are not separate from the guest experience. They are what give it meaning and make a stay memorable.
The two shortlisted homes demonstrate this in very different ways. Longdale Barn offers a quiet countryside retreat in Newtown Linford, while Osbaston Mews brings together three distinctive properties within the grounds of the historic Osbaston Hall estate.
Longdale Barn: A considered countryside retreat in Newton Linford
Set in the charming village of Newtown Linford, Longdale Barn is a beautifully restored two-bedroom countryside retreat where original character sits comfortably alongside contemporary design.
There is a quiet confidence to the way the barn has been considered. Soft, earthy tones and natural textures create calm, inviting interiors, while the original character of the building gives the home a strong sense of identity. It feels comfortable and contemporary without losing the qualities that make it special.
The wraparound garden adds another dimension to the experience. It creates a wonderful sense of space and connection to the surrounding countryside, offering guests a place to pause, spend time outdoors and enjoy the changing atmosphere of the day.
As the day draws to a close, the garden becomes an idyllic place from which to enjoy the beautiful sunset views. It is a simple detail, but one that captures what makes Longdale Barn so appealing: the opportunity to slow down, notice your surroundings and enjoy a more peaceful pace.
With its peaceful setting, considered interiors and abundance of character, Longdale Barn is a beautiful place to unwind and enjoy the Leicestershire countryside. It offers the kind of self-catering stay where the setting and the home work together, giving guests space to relax while still providing all the comfort expected from a luxury short stay.
Its place on the shortlist for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year is recognition we are immensely proud to share with its owners. It reflects the care that has gone into restoring the barn and creating a home that feels both distinctive and welcoming.
Osbaston Mews: Historic luxury near Hinckley and Bosworth
Set within the grounds of the historic Osbaston Hall estate, Osbaston Mews is a collection of three distinctive properties: The Coach House, Stableyard Cottage and Coachman’s Cottage.
The restoration of the Mews has been approached with sensitivity to its eighteenth-century heritage. Original character has been carefully preserved, allowing the history of the estate to remain part of the experience, while each property offers the comfort, quality and considered design expected from a modern luxury short stay.
The result is a collection with a genuine sense of flexibility. Ranging from one to two bedrooms, each property can be enjoyed individually for a quiet countryside escape. Alternatively, all three can be reserved together, creating an ideal setting for families, friends and group celebrations.
That flexibility allows Osbaston Mews to work for different kinds of stays without losing its identity. A couple can enjoy the privacy of one cottage, while a larger group can share the wider estate setting and still have their own space within the collection.
Stableyard Cottage also offers a fully accessible, ground-floor layout with ramped access, while ample parking is available across all three homes. These practical details are an important part of making a stay feel considered, giving more guests the opportunity to enjoy the character and setting of the Mews.
There is something particularly special about the balance of old and new at Osbaston Mews. Its history remains an important part of its character, complemented by thoughtfully designed spaces that feel comfortable, elegant and perfectly suited to a modern stay.
We are incredibly proud to see Osbaston Mews recognised alongside Longdale Barn in this year’s Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year shortlist. Together, the two homes demonstrate the variety and individuality that can be found within the Leicestershire countryside.
The team behind the We Stay experience
Alongside the recognition for two of our homes, we are equally delighted that We Stay has been shortlisted for Best Team of the Year.
Behind every We Stay property is a team of people who care deeply about the experience we provide. A beautiful home is the starting point, but the stay itself depends on the people who prepare it, look after it and make sure the details are ready for each guest.
From supporting our property owners and caring for our homes to preparing for arrivals and being there for guests throughout their stay, there is an enormous amount that happens behind the scenes. Much of it is not visible, but it is felt in the way a home welcomes guests and in the confidence that comes from knowing everything has been thoughtfully considered.
It is the collective care, attention to detail and consistently high standards of our team that allow us to deliver the experience our guests have come to expect from We Stay. The recognition belongs to everyone who contributes to that experience, every day.
To have that work recognised at the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards is something that means a great deal to us. It is a reflection of the people behind the properties as much as the properties themselves.
Recognition across homes and team
To have Longdale Barn and Osbaston Mews shortlisted for Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year, alongside We Stay for Best Team of the Year, makes this a particularly special year for us.
The nominations recognise two different homes, but they also show the consistency of the We Stay approach. Whether a guest is staying in a restored barn or within a historic estate, we want the experience to feel thoughtful, comfortable and connected to its setting.
We are fortunate to represent some truly beautiful homes and to work with owners who share our commitment to creating exceptional stays. We are equally fortunate to have a team whose care, knowledge and dedication bring the We Stay experience to life every day.
Looking ahead to Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2026
As we look ahead to the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards at the National Space Centre on 26 November 2026, we do so with an enormous sense of pride.
For now, we are taking a moment to celebrate the recognition and everyone who has played a part in it: the owners who have entrusted us with their homes, the team who care for them and the guests who choose to stay with us.
Whatever happens on the evening, being shortlisted across both our collection and our team is something we will remember. It is a reminder of why the details matter, and of what can be created when thoughtful homes and dedicated people come together.
Two exceptional homes, three shortlist places and one very proud We Stay team.
